Many trivia questions don't have a proper translations - Why?

Well, there probably isn't a translation available for that question or answer alternative(s). Fortunately, as soon as somebody translates that entry, it will be used instead.

Can't see some of the characters properly, while playing the trivia games

And likely some foreign characters are only shown as unintelligible squares. Yes, the reason is likely that your (windows 2000/XP) computer is not set to show characters of your target language. For example, a typical West European (windows 2000/XP) computer is set to use some West European character set. There are two solutions available, of which the first one is much better. Use it, if that option is available.

Solution 1: (preferred)
Set your computer to also handle characters of target languages
Windows 2000 / XP:
  1. Click your windows START - menu.
  2. Select Control Panel
  3. Click on the globe marked Regional (and Language) Options
  4. (in XP, open the "Languages" tab)
  5. Then select all of the languages you may need
  6. Click "OK/apply" , which after the Windows may want to read files from Windows installation disk
  7. Re-boot and try to play trivias
Linux and Vista 'distributions': Are there problems with character support in versions of Vista or Linuxes ? If you have problems (and hopefully solutions) with the character support in Vista or Linuxes, please describe the problem (and hopefully solution) on our feedback pages
Solution 2:
Use the trivia versions below. They all have a build-in characters for almost 'all' languages
Newton Trivia (Classic):
  1. Unicode 1: All other characters, except the Korean, Japanese and Chinese ones (0.22 MB)
  2. Unicode 2: All other characters, except the Chinese ones (1.7 MB)
  3. Unicode 3: All characters, except some of the Korean ones (2.5 MB)
Rosetta Trivia (Language Basics):
  1. Unicode 1: All other characters, except the Korean, Japanese and Chinese ones (0.22 MB)
  2. Unicode 2: All other characters, except the Chinese ones (1.6 MB)
  3. Unicode 3: All characters, except some of Korean ones (2.5 MB)

Why my translations do not appear in the games?

Patience! There can be a modest (X minutes) delay before the changes appear in games. If you see your translations at the question central, they are on their way into games.

I'd like to know how a these translations should be pronounced?

The next version of trivia will include sounds / playing with sounds.

Why the games say: "Could not locate a fresh set of questions- try again later "?

It is likely because of one of the following reasons...

  1. If both of the selected languages, are short of questions. Fortunately, you can translate few questions to one of the selected languages, and see if the problem disappears :)
  2. Trivias try to preserve their functionality by utilizing different back-up connection and caching methods. However sometimes all things just go wrong. Fortunately these kinds of errors don't usually last very long. Therefore, try again later.
